There are no words
When I woke up this morning, I was thinking about what I would put into the journal this week. Before I could finish the thought, this is what came to me…there are no words. We slipped away on Wednesday for a three-day getaway and went to Laughlin NV, Oatman, AZ, and the Musical Instrument Museum; drove Route 66, saw some donkeys, took some pictures, and talked to a lot of people. Paid $6.49 a gallon for gas, heard people talk about food shortages, worry about the price of food, opine on the state of education in Arizona, voice concern of what they believe is a likely WWIII; people are anxious. They are worried.
As millions flee Ukraine as Russian forces hit the cities with back-to-back rocket attacks, the President fumbles the words “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power” and “butcher Putin”. World leaders scold Biden for his comments. The Kremlin commented that such “personal insults” narrow the window for bilateral relations. The Ukrainians continue to fight on; and they grow weary. Women and children lay dead in their streets. The United States supports the Ukrainian people and their fight for freedom.
But America First
To many of us, that feels (and is) thousands of miles away. What is right next door, however, is the 164,973 illegal immigrants that we apprehended crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in February making it the highest apprehension during the month of February in 22 years. With 12,011 unaccompanied children apprehended. Children left behind by smugglers and parents. In Arizona, Border Patrol reported a spike in unaccompanied children crossing the border, with more than 100 children being found alone in recent days. A five-week-old baby abandoned, a four-year-old drowned—where is the outrage?
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has said the situation at the border is, “worse now than it, frankly, has been in at least 20 years, if not ever.” And their predictions for the spring months? Officials are expecting as many as 9,000 arrests per day. Fentanyl and methamphetamine are being smuggled across the border at an alarming rate. With our porous border comes historic crime levels. The Biden administration has signed 94 executive actions on immigration and 52 of them have set the stage for undoing the border security delivered during the Trump Administration.
Pima County’s role
How does Pima County fit into this open border, human trafficking, drug smuggling crisis on the southern border? We sent our very own Chris Magnus to head up the Customs and Border Protection. From leading a workforce of 800 at TPD to 60,000 at CBP, Magnus says that an important area for him is internal procedural justice which he defines as “the way the organizations treat their own employees. It includes the need to really listen to the workforce, making sure they feel heard, the need to treat employees fairly, and explain what decisions are made and why.” I would really like to hear from the Tucson Police Department Officers—how did that internal procedural justice work out for you? Magnus wants to “professionalize the workforce and keep up with best practices.” He believes that CBP must be able to hold those accountable in a way that is fair but also in a way that addresses the damage they could potentially do. CBP? What about the damage being done to our country by the invasion on our southern border?
No time to worry
Be ready. If you can, buy an extra can of food. Store a little more. Eight months. That’s all we need is eight months to take back the house and the senate. To investigate the Pelosi/Biden corruption and the deep swamp activities of federal agencies. The AZGOP/Yavapai County stopped the unconstitutional HB 2839 last week. PCs are turning in their petitions to the County Elections on Country Club. Our associated Legislative Districts 17, 18, 20, and 21 have reorganized and are preparing for a new decade of Republican representation and leadership in Pima County. It was a good week. There are great weeks on the horizon. Join me in getting ready.
March 21, 2022 – This is a Shakedown, Plain and Simple
I listened to the radio on Saturday and learned that “June…a Republican” is very happy with Joe Biden’s Build Back Better. Sure June, how about telling us your last name? And then last night I got to see Mark Kelly with his commercial on Fox News telling us how “independent” he is. Great Mark, what’s your voting record show? By the end of the day, I was so excited! The Dems are using dark money to run radio ads, Mark is spending his money on commercials, and we haven’t even turned in our signatures yet! Wondering if we—the Pima County Republicans—have been successful? There’s your proof—and here’s some more.
Nationally
- Despite Biden, 15 of the top 20 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 17 of the top 20 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- Under Biden, 33 states have hit new record high gas prices
- Under Biden, inflation is at its highest in 40 years
- Under Biden, 70% of Americans disapprove of his handling of gas prices and inflation
Arizona
- Representative Andrade (D-Glendale) un-endorses Hobbs, switches to Marco Lopez
- Governor Candidate Marco Lopez has financial ties to what’s considered the biggest international bribery case in history in his work with the former Mexican President
- All Democrat Legislators support HB 2839 removing the elected status of Precinct Committeemen to minimize the grassroots work of the Republican Party and refuse reconsideration of the bill
Pima County
- Here’s what keeps Pima County up at night—the Election Integrity bills before the 55th Legislature
- Pima County received ONLY five applications for Elections Director after conducting a nation-wide search
- The Elections Director selected from the five candidates is from Chesterfield County, Virginia, where in the last election out of 95 counties in the state, Chesterfield reported their results LAST
- Pima County has been approved to move 2022 elections to ePoll books and voting centers, yet they have no project plan with milestones, tasks, time estimates, and a baseline critical path to ensure they meet the election date of August 2, 2022 (Elections Integrity meeting)
- There does not appear to be a combined Master Plan (Recorder & Elections Dept) for a total revamp of Pima County elections
- There is no overall Project Manager for the implementation of the new system
- Could not answer questions regarding scheduled completion date vs plan date
- Could not provide specifics on schedule for receipt of all equipment
- Could not provide details on plan for system checkout and acceptance testing, including live testing
- Recorder’s participation was in the review
- The Pima County Democratic Party draws up a resolution against BOS Sharon Bronson because she “disrespected both Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cazares-Kelly, as well as Cazares-Kelly’s office staff”. Democrats don’t like the facts: “We have no Elections Director at this point, we have a new Recorder who has not had the experience and has all new staff members who have not had the experience of running an election,” said Bronson. All facts, all true.
City of Tucson
- “We do have a new requirement to process paperwork for all workers. In addition to a copy of social security cards and emergency contact information, we’ll need a copy of Covid-19 vaccination cards.” Assistant City Clerk, City of Tucson – Democrats trying to keep Republicans out of the polling places
- Mike Rankin, City Attorney, stated “prohibits employers from using a payment method that requires an employee to have a valid social security number. This provision {Prop 206} is in conflict with federal and state law.” So, is the City of Tucson breaking their own law?
- We became aware of this on Tuesday (March 14). The Pima County Republican Party was on it immediately and contacted our Legislatures and reached out to the AZGOP. Additionally, we had the story:
- Put in the AZ Free News
- Which was picked up by the Gateway Pundit
- Contacted the Republican National Committee legal team
- Opened a complaint with the Attorney General Election Integrity Unit
It will not be difficult to explain to Pima County voters why voting Republican is the ONLY choice this cycle. Read on to get more to tell the voters. Join me in getting the message out.
March 14, 2022 – The Data Grab
I was having breakfast with some friends this morning and the discussion turned to the people who were arrested because of the attack on the Capitol on January 6th. Why are they still in jail? While I haven’t been able to get an answer to that question, I did learn that the Republican National Committee (RNC) is suing Nancy Pelosi and her January 6th Committee.
Pelosi’s committee
- has subpoenaed Salesforce.com for the RNC’s data; Salesforce maintains significant amounts of RNC data
- has weaponized Congress’ investigatory power, lacks legitimacy, has exceeded its scope, and disregards checks and balances
- has trampled on core First Amendment rights
- is attempting to subpoena private financial information of donors and RNC supporters
- jeopardizes exposing the personal and private data of up to 60 million Americans
- is illegitimate; Pelosi blocked Reps Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Jim Banks (R-IN) which is an abuse of power for purely political reasons
- is running a politicized investigation for the purpose of prosecuting their political opponents
- is trying to conduct themselves like a law enforcement agency
- has been defined by The New York Times as “employing techniques more common in criminal cases than in congressional inquiries”
The Republican National Committee
- is filing a lawsuit to stop the subpoenas
- is ensuring that one of the major political parties does not abuse its power to seize private data and campaign strategy
- ensuring safeguards to protect the information they are attempting to seize
- fighting to ensure that data is kept private; the Select Committee already leaked data to the Washington Post
Congress does not have an unlimited subpoena power. The U.S. Supreme Court has consistently held that its subpoena power must have a legislative purpose and not be a pretext for law enforcement activities. It’s time to join in the fight against the Democrats and Pelosi’s power grab. Join me–let’s stop government overreach and end the confinement of the protesters.
March 7, 2022 – Who’s on First??
Pima County Department of Elections announced the new Elections Director last week.
Who is Constance Tyler/Hargrove?
“Experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the government administration industry. Skilled in Government, Public Policy, Administration, Teaching and Preaching. Strong professional with a master’s degree focused in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Capella University.” (LinkedIn)
With master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling and Divinity and a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies/Affairs, Constance Tyler/Hargrove will lead Pima County through an election systems and technology cutover to ePoll books and Voting Centers.
What has she done?
Her previous experiences have been in significantly smaller communities and elections departments than her new assignment in Pima County.
Pima County, AZ | Chesterfield Co, VA | City of Richmond, VA | |
Population | 1,043,000 | 360,000 | 226,622 |
Registered Voters | 626,502 | 250,000 | 140,000 |
Geography | 9,189 sq miles | 437 sq miles | 62.57 sq miles |
County Employees | 7,500 | 1,900 | 4,000 |
Salary | $147,000 | (2019) $92,607 | (2017) $68,666 |
Prior to her arrival in Tucson, Constance Hargrove worked as the General Registrar and Director of Elections for Chesterfield County, Virginia. After the retirement of Larry Haake and the tragic death of his successor, Hargrove was appointed to this position by the democrat-run Electoral Board. Chesterfield County had implemented ePoll books in May of 2009 prior to Ms. Hargrove’s arrival in August 2013.
Ms. Tyler/Hargrove worked for the City of Richmond from 1995 to December 2011. The February 28, 2022, Memorandum Re: Hiring of New Election Director from Jan Lesher, Acting County Administrator, states:
“While working for Richmond, she spearheaded the implementation of electronic pollbooks in 2011, and she successfully implemented satellite early voting locations in Chesterfield County for the 2020 election to reduce wait times and exposure risks during the pandemic.”
Hargrove’s resume indicates that she left the City of Richmond in December 2011 shortly after the implementation of electronic pollbooks. Reviews of the 2020 Chesterfield County election indicate that the county was the last county (there are 95 counties in Virginia) to report the results on election night in 2020. There were 81 polling places and they had not ordered enough ballots for the election.
The 2018 election in Chesterfield County saw long lines and voters being given the wrong ballots according to CBS 6 News in Richmond, VA. Voters had to park as far as a quarter of a mile away from their polling place. Constance Tyler (Hargrove) said the problems were caused by a “perfect storm” of rain showers and an influx of voters. “There was a huge turnout that some of the polling places just couldn’t accommodate it,” Tyler explained. She also warned voters who arrived at 6 a.m. to expect a short wait and be patient even though polls are scheduled to OPEN at 6 a.m.
The Virginia Mercury reported “Election officials refused to let voters in despite a judge’s injunction”. Reports of delayed openings and not enough pollbooks caused extremely long lines. The article pointed out LATE OPENINGS, LONG LINES, LIMITED EQUIPMENT. Chesterfield County has approximately 250,000 registered voters; Pima County has 626,502 registered voters.
How we can help
Elections Director Hargrove can be sure that the Republican Party will work to ensure that we have the maximum number of poll workers and observers to assist the Elections Department in the August primary and the November general election. We recognize that her area of responsibility in Pima County is three times more than any of her previous experience. The drastic changes in technology and service delivery systems have changed since she was a team member in the implementation of ePoll books more than 10 years ago in the City of Richmond. There are 3 months until the early ballots drop; we will be sure to get all our voters to the poll.
If you haven’t signed up to be a poll worker or poll observer, please do so. We are going to need you.
February 28, 2022
In January 2019, the Department of Defense (DOD) under the Trump Administration issued the Missile Defense Review (MDR) outlining the roadmap for U.S. missile defense policy, strategy, and programs. The Biden Administration is scheduled to issue their MDR in early 2022.
The Threat
In 2019, the MDR outlined a “threat environment that is markedly more dangerous than in past years”, and today we see that President Trump was correct. The MDR issued during the Trump Administration focused on his America First agenda, making the homeland the number one priority of the U.S. missile defense program. The MDR directed DOD to:
- ·Deploy 20 additional long-range interceptors at Fort Greely in Alaska
- ·Deploy additional discrimination radars in Alaska, Hawaii, and other locations
- ·Upgrade existing radars
- ·Make sure our interceptors could engage certain ICBM-class threats (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles)
Russia Today
Russia’s Strategic Rocket Forces (SRF) are a separate branch of the Russian armed forces. It includes three missile armies which comprise 11 missile divisions and approximately 60,000 personnel. Current estimates are that Russia’s ICBM force is made up of 310 missiles that can carry up to 1,189 warheads. Russia has been modernizing their ICBM force and this is expected to be complete by 2022. Another part of the SRF is the Russian Navy which has 10 strategic submarines. The estimate is that the submarine fleet carries around 624 warheads. The aviation units are estimated to comprise 60-70 bombers that can carry nuclear-armed cruise missiles. Additionally, Russia has a variety of delivery systems that can carry nuclear warheads to shorter and intermediate ranges and these systems are referred to as nonstrategic nuclear weapons. Estimates of the number of warheads assigned to nonstrategic nuclear weapons is 1,912. Russia has extensive early warning systems that transmit to two command centers: one in the Khabarovsk region and one in the Kaluga region, and they transmit to Moscow. Russia has about a dozen research institutes and facilities that participate in the design and manufacture of nuclear and nonnuclear components for nuclear weapons; their nuclear weapons are stored at approximately 12 national central storage sites.
The Treaties
The bilateral arms control agreements shaped the restrictions that have been placed on Russia and the United States:
- The SALT (1972-1979) when the U.S. and Soviet Union signed their first formal agreements limiting nuclear offensive and defensive weapons in May 1972
- the INF and START (1982-1993) seen as significant milestones in arms control; the Moscow Treaty and New START have all been significant in the arms race.
And so?
December 2021 saw an increase of illegals on our Southern border from Russia and Ukraine. Over 2,000 Russians and 300 Ukrainians made their way to our border. As the Ukrainians fight for their freedom from the Russian invasion of their country, we too must fight against the invasion of our country. From October 2020 to September 2021, 1.66 million people were arrested at our Southern border. Why would I write about “the threat” and “Russia today”? Not just because the world might just have entered a world war, but because we have a war on our Southern border and the enemy might just be the same as the enemy of Ukraine. Join me in electing Republicans who will build the wall. Let’s put America First.
February 21, 2022
On January 21, 2022, the Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) approved the Arizona Legislative maps with a vote of 3-2; two (2) Republicans and one (1) Independent voted in favor of the maps while two (2) Democrats voted against the maps. In the Congressional maps, the initial vote was 5-0 until the Democrats got ‘the call’ from the Democrat National Committee and then the votes changed to 3-2. No surprises here. In Pima County there will be seven (7) legislative districts. Our legislative districts will cross county lines.

Why do we do this redistricting? As the 20th century opened, the House of Representatives grew to over 400 members and there was a consensus that its size had to be limited. In 1911 the House of Representatives was fixed at 433 members (with two more seats to be added if Arizona and New Mexico became states, which they did). In 1962 the Baker ruling held that the U.S. Supreme Court had the power to resolve legal challenges to the constitutionality of failing to reapportion after every census. Decisions such as Gray v. Sanders (1963), Reynolds v. Sims (1964) and Wesberry v. Sanders (1964) found that the Constitution required every state to reapportion after each census and that with the singular exception of U.S. Senate seats, all state and federal legislative districts must be of equal-population.
The question then becomes how do we do this? From statehood in 1912 until the passage of Prop 106 in 2000, the Arizona legislature controlled the drawing of congressional and legislative districts. By a vote of 56.1% to 43.9%, the electors passed Prop 106 in 2000 which chose to have redistricting done with a Commission rather than the legislature. The year 2021 was the first year Arizona has not been required to “pre-clear” their proposed maps with the U.S. Department of Justice. The authority for the Independent Redistricting Commission is found in the Arizona Constitution, Article 4, Part 2, Section 1 and the selection of the Commission is outlined on the AZSOS website. After many listening tours throughout Arizona where the Pima County Republican Party voiced their communities of interest and interest in bringing competitiveness to the legislative districts in Pima County, we are ready to organize to elect congressional and legislative representatives.
What’s next? The Chairmen of Legislative Districts (LD) 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, and 14 have been invited to meet and discuss their needs for the redistricting meetings and resources for moving those meetings forward. Following the meeting, Precinct Committeemen will be hearing from the LD Chairs about upcoming meetings. It’s change. Change is never easy. Remember, our job is to elect a senator and two (2) representatives from each LD. Let’s do our job. Join me in getting representation in our LDs by electing our Republican candidates.

What’s the Litmus Test?
A trusted colleague, who was “asking for a friend”, asked me if I was American First. I removed my sunglasses to be sure this person could see my eyes–I believe the “eyes are the window to the soul”. I was AMERICA FIRST before it was front and center in U.S. politics. When I wrote the article for Breitbart in 2014, I was attempting to put focus on the surge on the southwest border and Congress’ complicit knowledge and funding; the fact they were NOT standing for securing the border and the safety of the American people. BTW, the Budget Authority for the Office of Refugee Resettlement in 2014 was $1,016,000,000; six years later in 2020 it had more than doubled to $2,636,764,254; and, just 2 years later in 2022 Joe Biden’s request for funding is $4,629,947,000, a 75% increase. So next time a candidate says they are America First, ask them what they are doing about:
The Transformation of Our Immigration System
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in 2016 offered the “promise as a nation of immigrants” to unite families, provide refuge, foster economic prosperity, promote citizenship, and protect our nation. Making promises to others.
In February of 2018, USCIS Director Cissna changed the mission and focused on “fairness, lawfulness, efficiency, as well as protecting American workers and safeguarding the homeland.” Director Cissna knew that the American people, THROUGH CONGRESS, entrust their federal agencies to administer the programs of the federal government. Sounds America First to me.
And now, just 1 year after taking office, the Biden administration has fundamentally removed the commitment to the American people and made a promise to welcome “all we serve”. The Biden Administration has transformed an agency which had “direct control of inspecting, admitting, rejecting, and processing all immigrants seeking admission to the United States with the Immigration Act of 1891.” Read the fascinating history.
Pima County Puts Illegal Immigrants Ahead of Americans
We sent Supervisor Christy into battle alone; he’s a SEAL team of ONE. In 4 to 1 votes, the Pima County Board of Supervisors is transforming our county–and, not in a good way! We have welcomed illegal immigrants during a pandemic in record numbers. The BOS approved $2 million to provide housing for those who are COVID-19 positive. We have provided transportation to shelters in Tucson and Pima County. In April 2019, more than 1,000 “asylum seekers” were released in Tucson in a matter of days.
Despite a resounding NO on PROP 205 (Sanctuary City), Pima County continues to provide a sanctuary for those who have crossed the border illegally, been picked up by Border Patrol, been released due to Biden’s failed policies, and then housed, fed, medically cared for, and transported with your tax dollars. Pima County Republicans are the backup Supervisor Christy needs. Follow BOS meetings and send comments to all Board members and the Clerk of the Board.
City of Tucson Defies America First Laws; Even After They are Passed
In 2012, the Tucson City Council voted to become an “Immigrant Welcoming City”. The Tucson Police Department shifted officers’ focus from checking immigration status. Steve Kozachik has challenged the state laws regulating firearms consistent with the requirements of the United States Constitution. He said his aim is to have the law “declared unconstitutional and thrown out plain and simple, so we continue to have free rein to enforce federal gun laws locally.” Time to stop this out-of-control Council.
Is America First a slogan or a policy for you? Whether it’s the border, election integrity, 1A, 2A, energy– it’s about the policy and 45 for me. Join me in doing the work for America.

Russia’s Not Your Friend
Russia’s military intelligence agency, the Main Directorate of the General Staff (GU), is also known as the GRU. The United States has indicted GRU officers and designated the GRU for sanctions in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, cybercrimes, and election interference. Cyber-related offenses against the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, NotPetya malware attacks in 2017, various cyberattacks against the 2018 Olympics, and interference in the 2016 U.S. election are just a few of the crimes the GRU has been indicted for by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). The GRU has been sanctioned under CRIEEA; P.L. 115-44/H.R. 3364 Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA, Title II).
Don’t Welcome Cyberattacks to Pima County
That is just a little background information for Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cazares-Kelly and Pima County interim Elections Director Mary Martinson.
Recommending electronic poll books hosted by Amazon and asking people to wait in longer lines is not a good idea
Cazares-Kelly states “With the e-poll book system, check in times will go from about three minutes to 30 seconds.” Costco can’t even print out my gas receipt that quickly, so you have my attention! However, Congress and the executive branch continue to try and figure out what to do about malicious Russian activities like cyberattacks, election interference, and disinformation while our election officials in Pima County want us to rely more on the internet. We know the DOJ knows this is a problem and Congress is trying to figure out what the GRU is capable of and why it conducts operations against elections in the United States, so why is Pima County so interested in inviting that trouble here?
Presidents Trump and Obama Knew…
General Paul K. Nakasone, Commander U.S. Cyber Command and the National Security Agency, said, “as the most technically advanced potential adversary in cyberspace, Russia is a full-scope cyber actor, employing sophisticated cyber operations tactics, techniques, and procedures against U.S. and foreign military, diplomatic, and commercial targets, as well as science and technology sectors.”
President Obama and President Trump invoked National Emergencies Act (NEA) and International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) authorities to declare national emergencies related to cyber-enabled malicious activities and election interference. President Obama issued Executive Order 13757 to establish sanctions against those engaged in “tampering with, altering, or causing a misappropriation of information with the purpose or effect of interfering with or undermining election processes or institutions.” We aren’t talking about Democrat or Republican here; both teams know the potential dangers of Russian influence in the elections.
Now, Let’s Tell the Pima Co Board of Supervisors
It’s time for us to let the Board of Supervisors know that electronic poll books and voting centers are not for the voters of Pima County, and if they vote in support of either or both of these proposals, it will be their first step out the door. We don’t need to do a cost-benefit analysis of the voting systems. We don’t need to model the voter system; wait time, service time and deliver a queueing analysis. We don’t need to tell you how disenfranchised voters will feel after the disinformation that will surround the change of polling places. We just need you to look at what your team—Presidents Obama and Biden—have already said. Listen to your team.
Do NOT set Pima County up for a cyberattack or a breach of our VOTER DATA. President Obama warned you; the CIA warned you; the FBI warned you; the NSA warned you, and the Pima County Republican Party is sharing our concern with you.
The Rest of the Story
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) stated that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the National Security Agency (NSA) has “high confidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin had “ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election”—and this was nine (9) days after President Obama signed Executive Order 13757.
Republicans, It’s Up to You
On February 15, 2022, the Pima County Board of Supervisors (BOS) will vote to change the election structure in Pima County. Contact each of the Supervisors and tell them to VOTE NO on electronic poll books and voting centers.
Rex Scott – district1@pima.gov
Matt Heinz – district2@pima.gov
Sharon Bronson – district3@pima.gov
Steve Christy – district4@pima.gov
Adelita Grijalva – district5@pima.gov
Clerk of the Board – COB_Mail@pima.gov
Join me in fighting for clean and fair elections.
P.S. Unfortunately, this will not be the last I will write about Russia.
January 24, 2022
Joe Biden wants to know what Republicans stand for. Pima County Republicans stand for Americans and putting America first. We stand for a free market, secure borders, and free and clean elections; we support law enforcement and a strong defense. And we do something about it.
Tucson/Pima County Business
The Pima County Republican party stood with Tucson businesses against Proposition 206. We worked to put signs throughout the City of Tucson and Pima County—NO ON PROP 206. We continue to stand against the vaccine mandate and mask mandate that continues to be pushed by the Democrats on the Pima County Board of Supervisors, and we use our E-Stampede as a ‘Call to Action’ to mobilize the Precinct Committeemen and Pima County Republicans to support the free market and businesses’ opportunities to conduct business. We support our local business owners.
Secure Borders
Arizona has more border land (federal and state) than any other southern border state. Biden’s presidency has been marked by month after month of shocking levels of illegal immigrants at the southern border. In November of 2021, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reportedly apprehended more than 173,000 illegal immigrants crossing the southern border: a 140% increase over November 2020. There is no record that Biden has EVER been to the border. The Pima County Republican Party sponsored a border tour with Sheriff Mark Dannels in Cochise County in March of 2021 for our Trunk and Tusk members, and in April 2021, the Arizona Republican Party was hosted by Pima County for their quarterly meeting and a border tour. Our support of a secure border begins with an awareness of the crisis we are facing on the border in southern Arizona.
Free and Clean Elections
In December 2021, a canvass of 30 Pima County locations was conducted by Pima County Precinct Committeemen and Pima County Executive Committee members. Private Investigators assisted with the canvass. Chairman Shelley Kais presented the findings before a Legislative hearing conducted by State Senator Sonny Borelli on December 13. The findings were turned over to the Arizona Attorney General. Our Elections Integrity Task Force has worked diligently and is pleased to announce that the Pima County Republican Party will be inspecting the ES&S voting machines for modems and transmission technology prior to election day. Our Elections Integrity Task Force negotiated this proposal with the Elections Department of Pima County. We oppose the implementation of ePoll Books and Voting Centers in Pima County and will encourage the Board of Supervisors to reject this suppression of the voters in Pima County. Moving from 240 Precinct Polling Locations to 100 Voting Centers will create extensive travel distances to polling places, long lines, wait times, and increase the opportunity for inaccurate voter rolls with ePoll Books.
Support Law Enforcement
In May of 2021, the Pima County Republican Party recognized our law enforcement organizations throughout Pima County. Along with a Proclamation, we created a basket of treats for the officers of Pima County, “Who wear the badge and are selfless public servants putting themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe and ask that all citizens join us in giving these dedicated professionals the support and appreciation they deserve.”
It was an honor and a privilege for our Pima County Executive Committee to deliver the Proclamation and small token of our appreciation to ten (10) law enforcement organizations in Pima County. We will continue to stand with our law enforcement officers as they fight the surging crime and record-setting homicide rates in Tucson. The Pima County Republican Party will fight to elect Republicans to the City Council and Pima County Board of Supervisors who will support our law enforcement and restore public safety.
Strong Defense
Tragically, 13 U.S. service members were killed as a result of Biden’s disastrous decisions in Afghanistan. During the dignified transfer of these heroes at Dover Air Force Base, Biden looked at his watch multiple times. He left behind billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment–equipment now in enemy hands. Our U.S. Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and our allied forces sacrificed so much for 20 years. The Pima County Republican Party supports our Airmen at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, our Arizona Air National Guard 162nd Wing, the Navy Operational Support Center Tucson, and neighboring soldiers at Fort Huachuca in Cochise County.
Yes Joe, the Republican party does stand for freedom and liberty. More important, we show it across the United States in our county parties and the action of every Republican Precinct Committeeman.
Join us. Become an elected Republican Precinct Committeeman. Call 520-321-1492 for more information.

LET’S BE GREAT
Jim Collins’ book “Good to Great” makes one thing clear; there is no magic strategy to move a good organization to a great organization. And I know some of you think that political organizations are not businesses and cannot be run like a business. Agree. The framework from good to great however is the same–business, social sector, government. Disciplined people who engage in disciplined thought and who take disciplined action–that is what we find in great organizations.
Disciplined People
Pima County Republican Party has about 800 Precinct Committeemen (PC). What should a disciplined PC be doing right now?
- Contact your 125 Republicans in your precinct
- Beginning March 7, get your Nomination Petition as an elected Precinct Committeeman and get the signatures. Due April 4.
- Contact the candidates in the Legislative District/Congressional District/Statewide and offer to get signatures, host a meet and greet, make phone calls, send texts.
- Join the War Room and contact opposition research.
- Contact your Independent/PND voters. Send them a postcard and explain how and why they should re-register as Republicans.
- Take the Pima County Republican Party training class for Poll Workers, Poll Observers. Be ready for August and November.
- Monitor the City of Tucson Council meetings and the Pima County Board of Supervisor meetings.
- Attend meetings where you can meet the candidates. Thursday, January 20, at St Phillips Plaza will be a great start!
Disciplined Thought
It was no mistake that the Pima County Attorney’s Office put out a report that stated there was no voter fraud the day before President Trump was coming to Pinal County. And it was no mistake that President Trump called out the fraud in Pima County elections! In disciplined thought we reject the OR and focus and AND. Do not be limiting in your thoughts; but spend time thinking. Our thoughts must be focused on the opponent–and, the opponent is the Democrats! What should we be doing right now?
- Consider the failures of the City Council, Board of Supervisors, Secretary of State, Superintendent of Instruction, Senator Kelly, the Biden Administration. Confront the brutal facts of the situation in Pima County. Ask yourself “why?” are we BLUE and “why?” aren’t we RED?
- Stay focused on the goal of electing Republicans. Always think of getting Republicans elected. Never lose faith.
- Get crystal clear on what you are passionate about. Determine what you can be best at. And what would drive success in the election.
- Become fanatical in making decisions that are best for the party.
Disciplined Action
This is not going to happen by next week. The Pima County Republican party is working on strategies for the long-term (10 years), a tactical strategy (3 years), and an operational strategy (1 year). It is a process, and we will continue to build momentum with each win that we capture. Look where we are so far:
- More PCs than the past 10 years
- Record-breaking annual fundraising
- Trunk and Tusk membership growing
- Record attendance at Legislative District meetings
- Largest Lincoln Day Dinner attendance in 25 years
- Increasing open-rates in weekly and bi-monthly communications
- Increased Republican representation in proposed Legislative District maps
Disciplined people who engage in disciplined thought and who take disciplined action–join me. Let’s take back Pima County.
