Making Sure We Are Ready
We are two weeks away from Election Day (November 8) and the Pima County Republican Party and the Pima County Department of Elections continue to staff our Vote Centers with Poll Workers/Elections Aides (Pima County Government) and Observers (Pima County Republican Party). The Pima County Republican Party sent a list of approximately 800 vetted and trained Poll Workers/Election Aides to Constance Hargrove, Director of Elections on August 10 for her to appoint to Elections Boards and Vote Centers. She and her staff have been working on that list and other names we have sent her to staff the November 8 Vote Centers. Many of you submitted an interest to work and did not hear from them for quite some time; they have been working on getting people scheduled all over the county. As of Friday:

  • There will be a total of 1,561 poll workers at 129 Vote Centers
  • We still need 8 Republicans for Ajo, Sells, and Three Points
  • The vote centers are at 99.3% capacity
  • We currently have 523 R and 543 D for Inspectors, Marshals, and Judges
  • We have 204 D, 138 R, and 153 Other for Clerks and Equipment Specialists

 The Pima County Republican Party is responsible for staffing the Observer positions in the Vote Centers. We need to have 516 four-hour shifts filled within the 129 Vote Centers. Currently,

  • 60% of the 516 Vote Center Observer shifts are filled; we need 214 more and are in the process of contacting people. Please call Aaron at 520-651-2308 if you have not received a call and want to be scheduled.
  • We currently have Republicans in the Recorder’s office and Elections Dept Offices working and observing on election boards

 We will be doing a Hand Count on the second Saturday following the election. We will need 25 Republicans to participate in the hand count. Please contact Bobbie Jo at 520-321-1492 if you are interested in participating.
We have asked the Department of Elections for the numbers of Poll Workers/Election Aides (Republican) used in 2020 and we will provide the number of Observers that were scheduled by the Pima County Republican Party in 2020 in the coming weeks for comparison.

We Will Celebrate and Then Activate
As I mentioned at the Lincoln Day Dinner, we will celebrate on November 8 at St Philip’s Plaza for our winning candidates and then we are back to work on November 9.

We have Tucson City elections in 2023 and we need to focus on Ward-Only Voting, Mayor of Tucson, Council Members representing Ward 1, Ward 2, and Ward 4.

On November 5, 2024, we will have our County elections for Board of Supervisors (all 5), Sheriff, County Attorney, County Assessor, County Recorder, County Treasurer, Superintendent of Instruction, staggered districts of the JTED Board, Pima Community College Board, and Justices of the Peace and Constables PLUS President of the United States, U. S. Senator (currently Sinema), U.S. House of Representative (CD 6, CD 7).

Join me. St Phillips Plaza on November 8, 2022. Back to work on November 9.

October 17, 2022 – The Leaves are Turning, and So Is Pima County

Can’t Make It Up
Katie Hobbs won’t take the stage with Kari Lake because she “feels” Lake is a conspiracy theorist who would make a mockery of the event? I guess after Blake Masters’ sterling performance against Mark Kelly, Katie’s got a conspiracy-fear of her own. And Katie, open the Secretary of State’s Office, there’s work to be done. Where is Engel these days? Hope she is not busy “protecting women’s rights;” we are good. The states will manage that Kirsten, we don’t need big government stepping in. With September’s Consumer Price Index soaring to 8.2% compared to last year, all these Democrats should be hiding! Let’s hear from Katie, Kelly, and Kristin on this:

  • Fuel oil is up 58.1%;
  • Airline fares are up 42.9%;
  • Eggs are up 30.5%;
  • Gas is up 18.2%;
  • Electricity is up 15.5%;
  • Milk is up 15.2%;
  • Groceries are up 13%;
  • Baby food is up 11.8%;
  • Meat, poultry, and fish are up 7.7%.

Even if inflation stopped rising today, Biden’s price hike would cost the average American family more than $8,739 over the next year! No wonder the Democrats are afraid to step out on stage!

Pima County Turning Red
Our Legislative Candidates are focusing on issues that matter to families and voters in all our communities in Pima County:

  • Lowering prices on everything from gas to groceries;
  • Keeping our communities safe;
  • Securing our southern border and stopping the flow of fentanyl into the country;
  • Investing in our children’s education.

Our candidates are door knocking, texting, phone banking, putting up signs and handing out literature all over the county. To secure victory for our Pima Legislative candidates GENE SOLOSKY has made 9,768 phone calls! Pima County Republicans in collaboration with Arizona Victory and AZGOP have mailed out 60,954 Golden Tickets and are passing out 36,000 more. We have made hundreds of thousands of phone calls and knocked on tens of thousands of doors. We have done hundreds of training sessions for our Precinct Committeemen and our Poll Observers. Now….

It’s Up to You
You should have received your mail-in ballot by now, if you are on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL). If you are voting at one of the 129 Vote Centers in Pima County on election day or one of the Early Vote Centers now open, you should have received a Golden Ticket to help you in your decision making for voting. The Pima County Republican Party recommendation for Judges is at the bottom of our Election 2022 website. If you have any questions or need assistance getting to the Voting Centers, please call the Pima County Republican headquarters at 520-321-1492.

Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to fall, and he is a drag on Democrat candidates. 74% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track, 53% of Americans disapprove of the job Biden is doing and he is 10 points underwater with just 42% approving. Joe Biden and the Democrats have brought crisis after crisis and the American people are paying the price. The United States is suffering under the Democrat policies which created

  • A supply chain crisis and inflation at a 40 year high;
  • High gas prices;
  • An out-of-control border crisis;
  • Lethal fentanyl pouring into our communities;
  • Rising crime across the country.

What is going on in our schools, the crime in our streets, the invasion of our country, the energy dependence on criminal foreign actors, the ruin of our economic policy—you must vote. It is your job to Save America, Keep Arizona, and Make Pima County great.

Join me. Vote in the 2022 midterm.

October 10, 2022 – Fake News vs. The Truth

Yes, I am using a Washington Post-ABC News poll, but only to demonstrate how to lie with statistics. This poll focuses on “single most important issue” to raise the issue—in this case abortion. Economy, abortion, and inflation are the top issues the Washington Post-ABC News listed, but they are NOT the top issues when you look at what is “Very important”. Also, this poll question would allow respondents to answer “one of the single most important issues” to all issues!
FAKE NEWS

THE TRUTH
Economy, Inflation, and Education and Schools top issue list for voters this fall
Using the criteria of “One of the single most important issues” and “Very important”, the top issues are:
Economy                                    85%
Inflation                                      78%
Education and Schools           77%
Crime                                         67%
Immigration                              63%
Abortion                                    62%
Climate change                        69%

This poll was intended to mislead people about the issues with an intent in raising the abortion issue to create a narrative against pro-life Republicans. The attacks are coming at our candidates from all sides, and we must not get sucked into their devious messaging. The issues are clearly kitchen table issues: your wallet, crisis in our schools, crime in our communities, and the correlated Illegal immigration, crime, and drugs.

We cannot allow this election to be hijacked by a single issue when Americans are trying to figure out how to put food on the table, educate their children, and protect their businesses and communities. It’s time to call out FAKE NEWS and educate our voters on how the media is using statistics to fool them.

I have knocked on a lot of doors this past week, and I like what I am hearing. Since July 1 we have knocked on approximately 13,000 doors in Pima County. We are talking with our voters, but we have many more voters waiting to hear from us.

THE REAL ANCHOR
Campaigns are like a relay race. You start the campaign with your announcement, some media and it feels fast. But just like in a relay you put your second-fastest runner out first, so you are not full speed yet. As the campaign moves along it feels like “steady as you go”, you don’t want to make any mistakes and like in a relay on the second leg you have your third-fastest runner, then your slowest runner is usually in the third leg (remembering that none of these runners are slow). Now here’s where it kicks in. In the last leg you put your fastest runner (the anchor). That’s where we are today.

You are the anchor for the next 29 days. You must move fast, walk doors, make phone calls, send texts, put up signs, write postcards. The voters are paying attention now. They need your advice. Who should they vote for, what about the propositions. We have answers for all of this—give them a golden ticket to take to the vote center with them. Be at the vote centers handing out golden tickets to those who haven’t decided yet!

Join me. Be an anchor for the real news—the “right” news.

October 3, 2022 – Time to Change the Lineup!

Batter Up!
Baseball is still America’s pastime. It is the godfather of American sports. Game 1 of the World Series will be October 28 through game 7, if necessary, on November 5. That brings us right up to Election Day! For those of you reading this newsletter, baseball and politics may be about all you talk about this month! Just as we talk about the lineup in baseball, we can talk about the lineup in Congress. Here’s a few facts about who has been serving you from January 2021-September 2022 in the 117th:

The Line Up
In the House of Representatives, there are 224 Democrats (including 4 Delegates), 214 Republicans (including 1 Delegate and the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico), and 3 vacant seats. The Senate has 50 Republicans, 48 Democrats, and 2 Independents, who both caucus with the Democrats. Additionally,

  • The average age of Members of the House was 58.4 years; of Senators, 64.3 years.
  • The overwhelming majority, 96%, of Members of Congress have a college education.
  • The dominant professions of Members are public service/politics, business, and law.
  • Most Members identify as Christians, and most of these affiliate with a Protestant denomination. Roman Catholics account for the largest single religious denomination, and numerous other affiliations are represented, including Jewish, Mormon, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Greek Orthodox, Pentecostal Christian, Unitarian Universalist, and Adventist.
  • The average length of service for Representatives was 8.9 years; for Senators, 11.0 years
  • There are 151 women: 127 in the House, including 3 Delegates and the Resident Commissioner, and 24 in the Senate.
  • There are 58 African American Members of the House and 3 in the Senate.
  • There are 52 Hispanic or Latino Members serving: 46 in the House, including 2 Delegates and the Resident Commissioner, and 7 in the Senate.
  • There are 21 Members (16 Representatives, 3 Delegates, and 2 Senators) who are Asian Americans or Pacific Islander Americans.
  • A record six Native Americans (American Indians, Alaskan Natives, or Native Hawaiians) serve in the House.
  • According to the Military Times, the 117th Congress veterans’ numbers are at the “lowest since the start of World War II”; with only 16.8% of the total membership having served or are serving in the military—91 members.

Arizona will help bring down the average age when we send Blake Masters (U.S. Senate), Juan Ciscomani (CD 6), and Luis Pozzolo (CD 7) to Congress! Arizona will help change the lineup for the 118th Congress in January 2023.

The Playbook
What better way to celebrate both baseball and politics in Tucson than with the MEXICAN BASEBALL FIESTA on October 8, 2022. Four teams travel from Mexico to play in Mesa (last weekend) and Tucson (this weekend). Let’s fill the stands with baseball fans wearing their candidate T-shirts or RED shirts. There’s a double-header starting at 5:05 at Kino Stadium on Saturday, October 8. General admission tickets are $15; kids, seniors, and military $8.

Support our community, support our candidates, support Republicans.

Join me. Play ball!

September 26, 2022 – Hey batter, batter… start the chatter!

It’s Nice to Have Friends
Every Sunday Jim and I have breakfast with three other couples. We have been having breakfast on Sunday for years. We are all Republicans and love to talk about politics and what’s going on in the world. We have a group text and keep each other informed throughout the week and share books we have read. The book Letter to the American Church by Eric Metaxas came up today.

In the Restaurants
We have had some dirty looks from others in the restaurant in the past, but yesterday a woman came to our table and said, “you can’t help but overhear the conversations” and I thought—oh yea, here it comes. And then she placed her hand on her chest and said, “I am a Republican, and it’s not very often you hear Republicans talking so openly in public.” We all laughed and shared some pleasantries and then she and her husband left. There is no doubt the country is divided, but why would we not openly share the ideas our elected officials have for a Strong Economy, a Safe Nation, a Free America, and an Accountable Government? Why wouldn’t we want to talk about them with our family, friends, and neighbors? And why wouldn’t we discuss the Biden Administration’s:

  • Out of control spending, increased by over $9 trillion since February 2021
  • Year-over-year food prices up 13.5%; the largest increase ever
  • Gas prices up more than 60% under the current Administration
  • Electricity prices up 20% since Biden took office
  • 3.5 million illegal border crossings under the current Administration
  • Individuals from over 160 countries illegally crossing our border
  • 300 Americans die from fentanyl poisoning every week; leading cause of deal for adults 18-45
  • Highest murder rate in over 20 years in 2021
  • The Chinese navy is now the largest in the world; yes, bigger than the U.S. Navy
  • Confidence in public schools is now at just 28%
  • Labeling parents seeking to attend school board meetings as DOMESTIC TERRORISTS
  • U.S. life expectancy has decreased for two straight years, the biggest drop since 1943

And if you think you can hide behind your computer and send out emails, 70% of Republican campaign emails go to spam on Google Mail, compared to just 10% of Democrat campaign emails! Our fellow Pima County residents already feel all these issues in their pockets; we need to tell them what our candidates are doing to make a difference. We need to talk!

At the Grocery Store
We stopped by the Grocery Store on our way home and as I was looking at green peppers, a woman I have never seen came up to me and said, “we have to do something about the price of food”. We started talking about the prices and she commented, “can you image what it must be like for families right now?” She’s right. The cost of eggs has soared 38%, flour is up 22.7%, chicken 17.6%, milk 15.6%, ground beef 9.7%, bacon 9.2% and fruits and vegetables 9.3%. People are hurting. Tell them how to fix this-vote Republican.

You Have to Show Up to Speak Up
There were 207,000 people in Pima County who voted for President Trump. They showed up. We need even more people to show up in 2022, and it is up to us to get them out there. And it starts with our candidates. Juan Ciscomani was scheduled to debate his opponent on Thursday, September 22, at 5 pm. Both candidates were scheduled to attend and had confirmed.

KIRSTEN ENGEL (D) DID NOT SHOW UP.
She didn’t show up for the debate, and she won’t show up for you in Congress just like Ann Kirkpatrick didn’t. Our Congressional District 6 needs a Representative who shows up to do the work and represents the people of Southern Arizona. It is our job to get out there an tell our family, friends, and neighbors.

JUAN CISCOMANI is just that guy. This district is where Juan grew up. He knows our community and our state. Most of you have met Juan because he has attended all the Republican clubs, Legislative Districts, has walked our border, walks the precincts with us, knows the industries that are so important to Southern Arizona. He’s not afraid to talk about the issues. HE SHOWS UP. He doesn’t hide from the issues. Juan believes in a Strong Economy, a Safe Nation, a Free American, and an Accountable Government.

Let’s send Juan to Washington to do all that for us. Join me.

And join me in watching Luis Pozzolo debate Raul Grijalva September 26, at 5 pm, on your AZPBS station.

September 19, 2022 – It’s Elementary My Dear, Watson

It’s time to talk Political Science 101 (PolySci101). If you are not happy with our candidates for the 2022 election, then you should have: (1) worked harder for your candidate in the primary, (2) showed up (not all Republicans voted), or (3) made sure your friends and neighbors got out to vote in the primary for your candidate. But now it is time to get over it and vote Republican. Here is why.

We are 50 days away from the election, and it is time to get on board to elect Republicans. Let’s see why:

  • You need a simple majority (218 of 435) in the House of Representatives to pass a bill
  • You need a simple majority (51/100) in the Senate to pass a bill
  • You need a two-thirds vote in both the Senate and the House to veto a bill

The Math
This is simple math. When you go to vote you have to ask yourself one question, “do I want the Democrats or the Republicans to control the country?” If you are really struggling because you are maybe one of these “Republicans for Mark Kelly”, and you are having difficulty voting for the Republican candidate, go back to “do you want the Democrats or the Republicans to control the country?” Now if you are the Mayor of Mesa, Eloy, Peoria, Case Grande, Show Low, Parker, Jerome, Douglas, or Scottsdale, and you have committed your support to Democrat Mark Kelly, then you need to ask yourself why you are a Republican. And the people in your community need to remember this when they vote for you.

The Democrats have figured out how many Republicans Mark Kelly must pull to win the Senate. Currently, approximately 8% of Republicans are voting Democrat; if they can get 15%, they have the country. Anyone wonder why almost every Kelly commercial on the radio and TV starts with “I am a Republican and I support…” Back to PolySci 101, they are going to have to pull Republicans to win and so they are making the 8% believe that it’s okay to vote Democrat and to convince Republicans who aren’t happy with their candidate to cross over. I return to my seminal premise, “do you want the Democrats or the Republicans to control the country?”

The Reasons
We know it’s simple math; we know we need a simple majority so what’s next? In the past 20 months we have seen

  • Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale with the worst inflation in the country, rated highest inflation in the country
  • criminals roaming our streets, Tucson rape and robbery rates higher than the U.S. and Arizona rates
  • students trapped in failing schools, Arizona ranked 48th out of 51
  • out of control border crisis that has made our communities less safe
  • repression of religious freedom
  • attacks on our 2nd Amendment Right
  • national debt of $31 trillion

Are you willing to continue along this path? Is this what you are willing to leave your children and grandchildren? One last piece of PolySci 101, if you are a Republican and you decide to vote Democrat, it’s the equivalent of 2 votes for the Democrats. If you decide to leave it blank, it’s the equivalent of a half of a vote for the Democrats. As a Republican, are you willing to do that to your country and your American family?

The Solution
Washington DC is waiting for Arizona to send them a thinker, an innovator, a manager. Blake Masters is just the man for the job:

  • Graduate of Stanford and Stanford Law School
  • President of a non-profit
  • Chief Operating Officer for a firm specializing in technology
  • Husband, father, son…just like us

Blake Masters will be at the top of your ballot. Vote Republican all the way down the ballot. We need the Senate and the House to stop the irresponsible ways of Joe Biden and SAVE AMERICA.

Join me.

September 12, 2022 – The Aggressor Sets the Rules

Where Were You
Yesterday was Patriot Day. It marked the 21-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93. Patriot Day is a remembrance of the lives lost on that September morning. The first few years following 9/11, people would meet on Patriot Day and start their conversations with “I remember, I was at….”. At 8:46 AM, Eastern Standard Time, the first airplane struck the World Trade Center. Do you remember?

About 30% of the population of the United States is under 21. They were not even born on 9/11. Will our public schools, local governments, state legislatures, and federal government teach what happened on that horrific day? Do most young people even know what it means when the flag is flown at half-staff? What do our holidays really mean anymore? Picnics and BBQs? Is Memorial Day nothing more than the start of summer and Labor Day means back to school? Pima County Board of Supervisors just passed Juneteenth as a county holiday and the county employees “will be provided eight hours of administrative leave with pay for the celebration of Juneteenth, which they can take anytime during the month of June”. The County also observes Cesar Chavez Remembrance Day in a similar way allowing employees to take a day off anytime during the month of March. Are holidays becoming just a day off work for our government employees?

Patriotism is the feeling of love, devotion, and sense of attachment to one’s country. Have we lost our patriotism? Have we lost our shared vision as a country? At least 10 years ago I was at a seminar, and they discussed the concept of a ‘cafeteria plan’ for employee holidays. For example, there are 11 federal holidays and employees would just take off whatever 11 days they wanted. If you wanted to work on Christmas Day but take off for your birthday, that would be one holiday. As business owners we were all struggling as to how we could work this out—who would open the office for that one employee on Christmas Day? I remember at lunch we were all laughing and talking about what days we would take off! As more and more positions become remote positions, I see this happening and am not laughing so hard now.

Has our country become such a melting pot that Washington’s Birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas don’t mean anything to people in America? And what’s the purpose of Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day if you aren’t fighting for and remembering those who fought for America? I talked about Labor Day last week—and thanks for all your comments—but, does that just signal back to school shopping?

I was at the Pima County Board of Supervisors meeting last week. After we said the Pledge of Allegiance, one of the Supervisors said the Pledge in another language as we continued to stand. When did we start saying the Pledge of Allegiance in other languages? When did we start having holidays that we don’t celebrate, we just take a day off sometime during the month? It’s been coming; it’s been gradual; it’s here now.

Over 2,000,000 people have crossed our southwest border this year. They don’t celebrate most of our holidays. Join me before we don’t celebrate Independence Day.

Vote 2022.

September 6, 2022 – Is Joe Biden…?

It Began in 1882

The first Labor Day Street parade was in New York City on September 5, 1882. The street parade exhibited “the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations” of the community, followed by a festival for recreation and amusement for the workers and their families. But, it was almost the parade that wasn’t because they didn’t have a band until the Jewelers Union of Newark crossed the Hudson with a band and the parade began to the sounds of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “When I First Put This Uniform On”.

On February 21, 1887, Oregon was the first state to pass a law recognizing Labor Day. By 1894, 23 more states had adopted the holiday. In May-July 1894, a widespread railroad strike and boycott called the Pullman Strike, disrupted rail traffic in the U.S. Midwest. The strike resulted in the federal government obtaining an injunction that President Cleveland (D) used to dispatch federal troops to address the strike. Amid this crisis, on June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed legislation declaring Labor Day a national holiday to be observed the first Monday in September.

The 1880s were dismal times for workers. Long hours, dangerous conditions, and low wages led many workers to rally, protest and strike against their working conditions. On May 4, 1886, the Haymarket Square incident/affair/riot occurred in Chicago. It turned into a riot when someone threw a bomb at police. In August 1886, eight men labeled as anarchists were convicted in a sensational and controversial trial in conjunction with the riot and seven of the men were sentenced to death. Four of the men were hanged. One committed suicide and the other two had their sentences commuted to life in prison.

But with 250,000 railway workers on some 20 railroads, the strike demonstrated the power of the labor movement. Another significance of the Pullman strike is that it established a greater role for federal government intervention in strikes and introduced the use of the federal military in addressing strikes.

And, Here in 2022

The National Mediation Board (NMB), an independent U.S. federal government agency, has ordered railroad negotiators and the leadership of unions to return to Washington D.C. on September 7 to try and reach tentative agreements on wage, benefits, and work rules contracts to avoid a nationwide rail shutdown as early as September 16. The overwhelming majority of railroad workers say they reject a proposed settlement that fails to improve their draconian working conditions. Joe Biden’s Presidential Emergency Board’s recommendations of August 16 fell short of union demands and they are prepared to strike to win more.

On September 2, 2022, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare Pennsylvania nursing home workers went on strike in nursing homes across PA. Striking members of the following departments: CNAs, LPNs, Housekeeping, Dietary, Laundry, and Activities are affected. So are your loved ones!

Amazon, Apple, Chipotle, REI, Starbucks, Trader Joe’s; new unions are popping up everywhere. Unions are winning more than three-quarters of their elections. Three times as many U.S. workers went on strike in 2022 as in 2021.

American University ended a week-long strike on August 26, which disrupted the first week of school. About 550 American University staff, clerical, and advisory workers represented by SEIU announced a deal with campus management while a tentative agreement for adjunct faculty members was negotiated the same week.

I wrote about the Immigration and Customs Enforcement union that Biden has destroyed. He’s ‘defunding’ federal law enforcement by removing their protections and support.

Federal employees are refusing to return to the workplace and federal employee unions are fighting for remote positions and permanent telework. Federal workers can’t strike, and Congress and the President are too afraid to make them return to the workplace. Their unions are growing stronger.

The Biden Lockdown, the Fauci Lie

The root cause of the increase in dissatisfaction among workers? The Biden Lockdown/Fauci Lie. Workers who lost their jobs, see their wages falling, see their hours reduced are finally coming to realize that they must fight against the questionable tactics this administration has taken to control them. Whether it is the railway workers, healthcare workers, administrative workers, or law enforcement, we see a common bond in their dissatisfaction, and it links back to the policies of this administration.

Surprised to see a Republican standing on the side of workers? Don’t be. We all know the lockdowns of the Democrats, the attempts to destroy small business, the overreach of big government, and the overspending and new enforcements (87,000 IRS) of the Democrats will destroy our county.

Celebrate those who MADE AMERICA GREATCELEBRATE LABOR.

Join me. Happy Labor Day!

August 29, 2022 – They Built a House of Cards

The House of Cards
When I think about people I trust, I think of things like honesty, dependability, reliability, loyalty, truthfulness, and follow through. Those are important characteristics to consider for leaders—and I don’t see any of them in the White House, the Speaker of the House, the Majority Leader’s house of Democrat Senators, or many of the leaders housed in our Executive Branch. I see a house of cards. The past two years feel like we are in constant danger of collapse in America. People have lost trust in their government, and the government has become fearful and retaliatory of the people.

Dishonest, Untruthful
Arizonans don’t need to look too far outside to see that Katie Hobbs, current Secretary of State and Democrat Governor candidate who attempted to shift blame on the Republicans in her discrimination case, has a problem with honesty and truthfulness. She portrays herself as a “changed candidate”, redoubling efforts to better represent communities of color. Can we depend on her? Is she reliable? What I see is a candidate doing whatever she needs to do to get what she wants to get. Her follow through is for her own political gain.

Unreliable, Undependable
Would your manager keep you on staff if your performance rating was 38%? Probably not, yet the American people are stuck with a President whose job rating is underwater. Republicans give him a rating of 5%, Independents 31% and Democrats 78% based on a Gallup Poll. With high inflation and now recession fears, Biden is extolling gas below $4 per gallon; it was $3.23 a year ago! To quote James Carville, “the economy, stupid”. Can we reliably trust the economy to Joe Biden?

…”and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Joe Biden’s oath is to the Constitution of the United States, not illegals coming here for a better life or students who want to get out of debt. No, Joe’s oath may have been to the Constitution of the United States, but his loyalty is to the constituents who have elected him and who will vote for him (or his party) in the future. He has no loyalty to the American people and our Constitution. His follow through is for his own political gain.

Has the House of Cards Tumbled?
In 1975, following the resignation of Richard Nixon, 52% of Americans said they had faith in the presidency as an institution. In July 2022, a meager 23% of Americans have faith in the presidency. The important measure is that it is a 15-point drop from just one year ago. In 2020, with President Donald J Trump still in office, 84% of Republicans said they had a great deal or quite a lot of faith in the institution of the presidency. This year? Just 2% of Republicans said they held the institution with the same confidence; Democrats 51% with their President, Joe Biden, in office.

American has Become a Breeding Ground of Mistrust
I still can’t believe that we have United States citizens in substandard conditions, sitting in jails in Washington D.C. with no due process. The raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Steele Dossier, the impeachment hearings, Paul Manafort’s imprisonment, we could go on with the list; it makes me wonder why they are so afraid of President Trump?

If you believe in America First, Make America Great Again, Save America, or the slogans that have led the Red Wave since 2016, let me assure you that we cannot make it happen with the Democrats we have in office today. From the top of the ticket to the school board candidates, we must change the direction of our country. We must put policies that make America and Americans the priority of our country—America First. We must return as the global leader that America has always been–we must Make America Great Again. And, with your hard work we can Save America before it is too late.

August 22, 2022 – When Elephants Fight

They are Killing the Grass
“When elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers.” This powerful and poignant proverb describes the suffering of we the people as the elected, selected, and domineering fight for power and control. Whether it is the

  • Administration’s 95 Executive Orders signed in the past 19 months,
  • the Congressional overreach in legislation which they call transformative, ideological, and progressive,
  • the military and government’s control over those whom they employ with required vaccinations and DEI indoctrination training,
  • state and local government’s shutdowns and health mandates which shutter business and suppress our freedom of religion, and intimidate us with our freedom of speech, or
  • political party leaders and rooky operatives jockeying for relevance and dominance,

it is the people who suffer. It’s the children who have been forced to mask up, stay home, suffer educational setbacks, miss out on once-in-a-lifetime events like proms and graduations who suffer. It’s the elderly who died alone in hospitals and old age homes without their loved ones by their sides. It’s the mentally ill, drug addicted homeless who wander aimlessly while city officials fight over solutions. It’s the unemployed and under-employed moms and dads who are giving up meals so their children can eat, and the elderly who are deciding between pharmaceuticals and food who suffer while our elected officials bought by special interests and paid off by corporations squander the tax dollars we send to the county, state, and feds.

Democrats Cleared the Grassy Fields for Republicans
In 2019 when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and Rashida Tlaib, both members of the Democratic Socialists of America and the “squad”, arrived in Washington DC, the Democrat party agenda moved to the left with workplace democracy, Medicare for All, tuition-free college, federal jobs guarantee, the Green New Deal and abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They wreaked havoc on their party and created a path forward for the Republicans to win back the House and the Senate in 2022.

And…the Elephants are Fighting
Senator Ted Cruz was speaking about party discipline on a talk show and how Democrats shore up their troops and get the job done. You don’t hear as much about the ‘squad’ anymore. Party discipline. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema fell in line and Mark Kelly has been a line leader since winning his election! Party discipline. Arizona Democrats all voted for HB 2839 even though they didn’t want it because they knew Republicans didn’t want it MORE. Party discipline. You don’t have to go too far on social media to see the Republican elephants fighting each other. All for what?

Stop Killing the Grass
Republicans, you want something to do? You want to be relevant? You want to win elections? Stop fighting each other and fight for the values of the Republican Party. Stop believing all the foolishness that you see in the mass emails and social media and pick up the phone and find out what’s true and what’s not.

As for me, I am going to continue to fight for what’s important. To me that is my country, my state, and my county. I am going to stay focused on how the Democrats are destroying our country and not how operatives are attempting to destroy our party. I will work for:

  • The 7,600 ICE agents who the Biden Administration erased their union leaving them without a collective bargaining agreement or union representation. Biden gets one step closer to eliminating ICE. Biden is UNION BUSTING – a step toward defunding law enforcement. Remember, this is what the SQUAD wanted, and Biden is paying them off.

“There is no doubt that ICE and DHS leadership worked in unison with corrupt union bosses to make this happen. DHS and AFGE leadership both wanted desperately to silence ICE Council whistleblowers. Without a union, it’s doubtful those whistleblowers will have jobs much longer.”   –Chris Crane President of the National ICE Council

  • Putting pressure on the 7th floor of the FBI and fighting for the President and Mrs. Trump
  • Ensuring that groups like Vot-ER aren’t registering voters and harvesting ballots in hospitals and community health clinics
  • Finding out how many of the 67.3% of Pima County voters who didn’t vote are Republican and right-leaning independents and make sure they vote for Republicans in November.

 Join me.  There’s a lot of real work to do for the Republicans of Pima County.
